UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 3rd-early 4th centuries. 'Aureus' (Gold, 21 mm, 4.34 g, 4 h), 'Derived Gordian Group C'. ƆOΛXRƆOƆIIꓷ[ꓷ]ΛVOSKCLL Laureate, draped and cuirassed imperial bust to left, seen from behind. Rev. [...]N+OKbXUVΛOSNNΛOXƆB Mars advancing right, holding spear in his right hand and shield in his left. Aurum Barbarorum II, 1889 (same dies). A beautiful and unusually well preserved example. Holed and with a minor scratch on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
